Ground and Pound Promotions descended upon the Rivertown Sports Complex again this weekend for GPP-XV in Grandville, MI. Seventeen amazing cagefights included two title fights, and stands full of eager MMA fans. FightMichigan was there to chronicle the wins and the losses. Also in attendance was FightMichigan’s good friend, Jeff “Shooter” Graham of Rings Radio. And, I’d also like to mention that this is the first time we’ve ever seen a female referee at an event in Michigan. Working alongside Keith Dozeman, was Jamie Lange, doing a fine job of keeping the fighters safe and keeping things fair in the cage! Jamie, you’re making women involved with MMA proud. Last Saturday night, Rumble in the Zoo and promoter Amir Khillah had their third show at the State Theater in Kalamazoo. Although there were only nine fights on the card, there was definitely no shortage of action.
There were some all-out wars at this event, and some of Western Michigan’s best competitors battled it out in the cage. Jeremy Horn was the official referee for the night, and greeted the first 200 people to show up at the door. Fight Michigan’s Shannon Hale and T.J. Corwin were on hand as an official judge and as the official timekeeper (repectively). James Carrow and Lansing-based promoter Ron DeLeon were also judging. Marc Oppenheimer kept us entertained with post-fight interviews, while Clint Colborn pumped up the crowd and gave the formal fighter introductions. If you haven’t been to a Rumble in the Zoo event, keep an eye on our calendar for the next show. You won’t regret it.
And now, here are your official results…

Ground and Pound Promotions packed the pavilion at Klackle Orchards last Saturday for 18 amazing cagefights, including three Championship Bouts. Our good friends Shooter and Derek from Rear Naked Radio were there, so don’t forget to head to their site and check out this week’s Rear Naked Radio show. The referees in charge of the action in the cage were Keith Dozeman, Travis Travesty, and Fight Michigan’s own Trevor Corwin. The crowd was so loud that it was sometimes hard to hear the announcers, so if there’s information missing or incorrect, it’s totally because the crowd was cheering so loud for the fighters. Feel free to leave us a comment and let us know what we got wrong. Or right. Either way, we like hearing from you. Now, here are your results…
