Caged Aggression made a triumphant return to their old, familiar stomping grounds – Streeter’s Ground Zero – this past Saturday night with another night of amazing MMA action! While FightMichigan was unable to witness the phenomenon first, thanks to the sheer AWESOMENESS of Dave “The Butcher” Clifford, we are able to bring you coverage! Promoters Big John Yeubanks and Christos “The Mad Greek” Piliafas combined their collective promoting experience to put together yet another rock-solid event. The venue was COMPLETELY SOLD OUT and packed to the ceiling with rabid fans who came out to support their local heroes. The night kicked off hard and fast, as Drew Scheele and Mike Jacob went to battle, with Drew closing the deal in round 2 with a nice TKO victory. Jake Armstrong and DeShawn Stanton squared off, with the fight carrying all the way to round 3 before Jake found an opening with a nice rear naked choke finish. Brandon Kurtzal won his fight in dominant fashion with a textbook Von Flue choke, much to the chagrin of opponent Leo Cruz. Tommy Stalteri locked down the victory, as well as a sweet KO – against a very tough Conrad Loucks. Up-and-comer Rambo Roosevelt continued his recent streak of dominant performances by literally beating another opponent into submission. Not only is Rambo a cool name, but also appropriate, because this guy comes for WAR! In the co-main event of the evening, J.J. “Train Wreck” Stevenson was pitted against Jack Howell. The fight raged on into round 2, where J.J. was able to seal the deal with an impressive TKO. The main event saw two VERY experienced cage warriors pitted against one another, Kamron “Young Gun” Snyder and Randy Wiggins. Kamron was able to finish the always battle-ready Wiggins in lightning quick fashion with a perfectly executed head-and-arm triangle for the “W”. On to staffing – the man in charge of fighter safety (referee) for this event was a familiar face on the Michigan MMA scene – pro fighter and UFC veteran James “Superman” Lee. The keepers of the score (judges) for the event were Tyler Finch, Kenny King, and Danny Thomas. Masterfully handling the microphone ceremonies was a FightMichigan friend and well-known hypemaster, Dave “The Butcher” Clifford (who made this post possible…thanks, man!). Getting Dave’s back with the sounds to walk ‘em down was Streeter’s very own Steve O. The keeper of safety outside of the cage (fight medic) was Dr. Mike Fillenworth. Also, a big shout out is in order for the people who help run the show behind the scenes, ensuring a flawless production, such as Becca Gulley-Kellerman and Domingo Hernandez. When it comes to great MMA action, Caged Aggression delivers! They are quickly approaching their 30th show, which means you can expect GREAT things from them for a long time to come.
