Michigan Extreme Combat Sports – Southern Michigan Championships – Results from July 23rd, 2011

This past Saturday night, the Taylor Town Trade Center bore witness to an absolutely outstanding display of top MMA talent from all across the midwest! There was so much great action, you really had to be there to fully appreciate it…including an amazing near-double knock out! There were a ton of great fighters present, both in the cage and in attendance. The crowd was pumped from start to finish, and for good reason. It was definitely a night to remember. The night kicked off with Amanda Trout from Party Ragious Entertainment singing our National Anthem. After that, it was GO TIME! Handling the microphone ceremonies was none other than Amanda Trevino, who is, you guessed it…the daughter of the mighty Mr. Throwdown himself! Speaking of whom…Pete Trevino Jr. actually announced another show, flew across town, and closed out the night by announcing the second half of the event. I could be wrong…but I believe he may be the first MC in Michigan to pull off a double header in one night. Pretty impressive! The keepers of safety, law and order (AKA referees) for the night were Michigan pro fighter and trainer Danny McIntire and Ohio pro fighter Josh “Short Stack” Robinson. The judges for the evening were David Doig (Our buddy and reporter for the News-Herald/Holy Smokes MMA), and FightMichigan’s very own Shannon and T.J., with the lovely and multi-talented Shannon on timekeeper duty as well. Before we get to the results…Mr. Kevin Whittenberg announced on Facebook earlier that anyone who comments on this post with their opinion of the show will receive a discount on tickets for the next event! So comment away, and keep us bookmarked on your browser. We’ll have the date and info on the next show the second it is announced. So here are those results…

  1. Great Job, enjoyed watching the event and the potential fighters in the area, well orchestrated event, job well done Kevin!!!

  2. Cliff” Special K’s’ Ruffin, trains out of The I.D.C. MMA Fight League Dojang, hes record Was 1-0, before the two wins Sat. NOTE: we had no Idea that his opponet record was 12-11-1, or we would’nt have taken that very unbalanced bout, but I see that some records aren’t what they appear to be……

    • Thanks for the info, Master Bey! The other night was the first time I have seen the Satin Panthers in action. Nice work! I was gonna try to talk to ya and introduce myself in person, but you were gone before I got a chance. Maybe next time…’til then, good luck! I hope your show is a sell-out! If you get someone to get the fight results, with: Names, heights, weights, winners method, time and round, + whatever other details you want, we’ll gladly do an article on it. Take care!
