Total Warrior Combat‘s twenty-first event was – as so many before it – absolutely amazing. Keeping in the tradition of delivering fierce MMA action, Lansing fans were treated to a night of knock outs, choke outs and tap outs! And as usual, there was so much notable action, it’s hard to decide which ones to focus on, so here are just some of the highlight:

Kicking off the card was an exciting and fast-paced female fight featuring Extreme MMA’s Abby Orr pitting her skills against White Elephant Fight Club’s Brie Willington. After some quick action on the feet, the fight hit the canvas, and just past the two minute mark in the first round, Brie was able to cinch her first win with a slick armbar finish.

The sixth fight of the evening featured the fan’s favorite finish – the KNOCK OUT. In a heated heavyweight battle, Austin Craun took center cage against Hype Gym’s Robert “The Hands” Austin. Both men came out with the intention to finish – and at only nine seconds into the very first (and last) round, Craun did – landing several devastating, point-on punches, ensuring that the fight was decisively over in BRUTAL fashion.

Grand Rapids Mixed Martial Arts David Maloley also scored a nice K.O. – in an even faster EIGHT seconds – via a well placed and timed head kick at the very opening of his fight against Headhunter’s MMA’s John “The Leprechaun” Lokhe.download movie Hacksaw Ridge 2016

Fight number nine was a thoroughly impressive all-out war pitting Target Martial Arts’ Cody “Mondo Man” Richards against Scorpion Fighting System’s Russ Dobson . These two ground it out at an absolutely unrelenting pace for all three rounds, leaving the judges to mete out their fate. After all the cards were collected, the judges decided that Russ Dobson put forth a superior display this time out.

In one of the most impressive stand-up battles in recent history, Grand Rapids Mixed Martial Arts’ Brandon Conaty went toe-to-toe with Scorpion Fighting System’s Matt Beckerson for the entire regulation time limit. While Beckerson never stopped looking for the solution, he just couldn’t overcome Conaty’s striking onslaught. The judges granted Brandon the win for a superb performance.

Probably the most anticipated matchup on the card was the MAIN EVENT featuring two of the very best in Michigan’s flyweight division – Grand Rapids Mixed Martial Arts’ Shawn Mack and Scorpion Fighting System’s Lex “The Maniac” Marson. It was clear that both men had prepared well for this fight, and although Marson was tough as nails and stayed right in the pocket all night, Mack was simply on top of his game. The action had found itself on the mat once again in the third round and nearing the three minute mark, after some careful transitioning, Shawn was able to pull off an awesome triangle choke for the win and the strap.

Total Warrior Combat just keeps getting better and better every time it seems, and on March 8th, 2014, they will be back at the Best Western Plus in Lansing yet again…with “Vital Force” – featuring the heated rivalry of Alyse Anderson versus Elane Santiago! FightMichigan will be there and we hope you will be too! Details and ticket info will be right on our trusty event page…see you all next time!
