Big John’s MMA made a triumphant and highly successful return to Great Hall in Midland for the first time in TWO YEARS on Friday, February 24th, 2012 with the aptly named event “Homecoming”. A vast array of Northern Michigan’s top fighters and trainers were in the house to put on a show for all of their PUMPED fans and to show the world how Big John does things! It’s a little known fact, but Big John actually only weighs about 142 pounds! The rest that ya see is all the promotion experience he has under his belt! And it shows, because Big John’s Bad Boys Cheap Jerseys From China (and Girls) bring the thunder each and every time they throw an event.
Once the action got underway, the fans roared to life in anticipation of the action they were about to be treated to. Early in the night, there was a highlight reel knockout at the hands of Middleweight contender R.J. Heinlein over game opponent James Wheaton in just barely over a minute in the very first round. The entire undercard was wild and exciting, with some killer TKO finishes and slick subs. The card also featured THREE exciting female fights, the return of cage mega-veteran Cliffy Creech as he faced Josh Peters, and three very exciting title defenses. The first of those title defenses was a Bantamweight BRAWL between Quincy Humphrey and Brian Scott that culminated in an emotional and extremely close split decision in the favor of Quincy Humphrey, making him the new Big John’s MMA 135 pound champion. The next Big John’s MMA title strap that oakley sunglasses for men was on the line was the vacant Lightweight belt, as Tony Mochty faced Joe Rogers in a battle that ground well into the second round before Tony Mochty was able to secure position and finish the fight via rear naked choke, making him the new 155 pound Big John’s champ. In the co-main event of the evening, Marlow “The Entertainer” Morgan took on a VERY tough David Eaton in a tremendous battle that went well into the second round before Morgan was finally able to seal the deal with some vicious strikes, also maintaining his UNDEFEATED record. in the MAIN EVENT of the evening, it was a battle of two of the best Welterweights out there, the very experienced Tyler Finch and many time cage veteran, The Pit’s Josh Fish. Finch got the win on this outing, taking Josh’s back and sinking in a tight rear naked choke for the tap out victory and the retention of his Welterweight strap. We’d like to send a special shout out to all of the fighters, fans and trainers that make Big John’s MMA’s shows this spectacular events that they are! The cageside physician for the event was the trained, tried and tested Dr. Mike Fillenworth. Also, kudos to the Midland County Office of Emergency Management for their expert services.
